Hyper-V Restores Failing

Post by mike.robertson »

I am in the process of migrating from VMWare to Hyper-V. Have been a VMWare admin my whole career, so learning Hyper-V as I go.

I have a Hyper-V cluster with (3) server 2025 domain joined hosts and shared storage. I have a dedicated VEEAM backup server (Version 13) that is NOT domain joined. I created a dedicated domain admin account for the Hyper-V cluster. I have some test VM's running on the cluster, that are also server 2025 and domain joined.

I have successfully added the cluster to my VEEAM server and setup some test backups. The backups run and complete successfully.

I cannot restore guest files to my test VM's though. I have added my domain admin account to the local admin group of each host and the vm.

WHen i try to restore, i get a connection error, which i assume has to do with credentials.

Thoughts?

Actually - I'm not 100% certain this is credential related. I tried some different credentials and when doing so i get an invalid username/password error
