SureBackup - backup and replica testing and sandbox was only ever fully implemented on VMware.
With Vmware being abandoned by most customers, due to the cost of ongoing subscriptions, is Veeam doing any development to get SureBackup fully developed for Hyper-V or any of the other Hypervisors (AHV etc)?
Or is SureBackup just going to be left to die quietly with VMware?

Re: Future of SureBackup?
Hi Scott,
SureBackup is not being left to die; there are no plans on our side to discontinue it.
But as always, our feature selection for new versions depends on many different factors and priorities.
For other hypervisors, we would first need to implement Instant Recovery before we could even consider SureBackup jobs.
For Hyper-V, I assume you are asking about SureReplica jobs, correct?
And for Nutanix AHV, do you have a current project where SureBackup functionality would be required?
Best,
Fabian

Re: Future of SureBackup?
@mildur
I have different customer migrating to nutanix and they asked me when surebackup will be available for nutanix...
Unfortunately, the only thing I can answer them is there is a feature request on this forum but since mayvebe 5 years or more so don t hope a lot for it to be soon....
It s really good to promote a lot 32110 rule but for this we need the backup product to be improved on his features.
I would prefer developper to take time to add these types of feature more than just add dark themes...

we are a service provider and MSP, so have customers already running on Hyper-V (many who were on Vmware) and Nutanix AHV (again many who were VMware). All up we are down to a handful of customers who are still on VMware and every one of them is already planning their migration off.
So only having the full suite of Surebackup and SureReplica features ONLY on VMware does nothing for the majority of our customers now.
It was a selling point, but no longer.
Given that Instant Recovery is fully available on Hyper-V hopefully that means that Surebackup and SureReplica functionality is something that Veeam will be working to implement on a platform other than VMWare!
