After upgrade to 8.4 the console is very slow

Post by billcouper »

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this and maybe it is only an issue when there are more than a handful of organizations configured (We have 126).

When I open the console the list of backup jobs takes up to a minute to display. Before 8.4 upgrade it was pretty much instantaneous. Occasionally the console will fail to load orgs/jobs and report an IO error. There are no issues on the underlying compute/storage/network infrastructure. Never saw this error before 8.4 upgrade.

Hi Bill,

we have multiple installations and didn't have this issue until now.

I would recommend that you open a Veeam ticket for this issue. This behavior is not normal.

I got this solved before I opened a ticket.

I see activity of the VBM console inspecting certificates when it launches. I see >24,000 certificates on this server. There's my problem! :o

Root cause: Veeam Backup & Replication Google Cloud Plugin
This plugin created more than 20,000 certificates in one day recently. This plugin is not required and has been uninstalled. After cleaning up the local certificate store, VBM console loads quickly again.

FYI before you ask why... VBR + VBM on the same server is a legacy left-over from when this was a requirement for Cloud Connect partners offering self-service 365 restore via the remote Explorer connectivity path. I've been waiting a long time for a good migration path to eject VBM from this server.
