VBK credentials

Post by jcgam »

When double-clicking a VBK file to import a backup I'm prompted for credentials. Are these credentials stored with the VBK? Which credentials should I enter?

Are you trying to import this VBK file from a remote share? If this is the case, then just specify Windows credentials you're using to access this remote share, should help!

Are credentials stored with the VBK file? Is there any way to password protect the VBK file?

1. No, the requested user credentials are required for our service to access the Windows share you're importing Veeam backup files from.
2. Backup encryption is not a part of v6, see this topic for more details: Encrypted Offsite Backup Files
