Greetings,
due to some massive change in our infrastructure I had to rebuild all jobs from scratch. I did not exclude the Windows 2000 and Linux VMs from Application Aware Processing by purpose, just to double-check which VMs still require the exclusion by seeing the VSS errors in the first job report.
To my surprise, there weren't any.
I discovered a note that I had overlooked in the "What's New" document for version 6.1, that says that the AAP warning/errors have been removed for non-Windows machines. I'm now wondering if they have also been removed for all OSs where AAP is not supported (Windows 2000 is, as specified in the 6.1 Release Notes)? As a matter of fact, in the backup stats details of these machines the "Preparing guest for hot backup" step is missing.

Re: Excluding AAP on Win2000/Linux no longer needed?
Correct. This change was based on your earlier request
