Database growth

Post by Szankowski »

Hi all,

I am testing Veeam One V 6.0.0.520. I am monitoring 24 hosts and 130 active VM's. My MS SQL 2008R2 Express has grown from initially 1.140 GB to the max allowed 10.400 GB in about one week.
Is this datagrowth normal or did i do something wrong.?

Regards Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Database size and growth depends on many variables, however the significant growth might be only expected during the first week of usage, as Veeam ONE will be saving 5 minutes data stamps for each object counter, after one week 2 hours data stamps will be used to aggregate incoming performance data.

Do you have any full blown SQL Server to move your Veeam ONE database to?

Thanks!

Hello,

We have also come across this same problem. Is there a way around it other than installing a full license sql instance?

Thanks

Hi Lloyd,

You may want to try changing the default retention policy setting for storing performance data (contact our support team for further instructions) or switch to the full blown SQL Server.

BTW - could you please tell me how many hosts, VMs and datastores do you currently monitor with Veeam ONE?

Thanks!

Hello Vitaliy,

we are montioring 34 hosts, 525 VM's and 87 datastores.

We are currently using the free edition, are we still eligible to contact support?

Thanks

Lloyd

Oh, that explains why you have hit the 10 GBs limit for a single database already.
