Failed to retrieve updated or changed rows from the table

Just thought I would share this one.

I did some work where we added a new esx server to the vsphere group (3rd one under a vsphere essentials license).

After migrating vm's to the new host, those machines were failing to back up with the error "Client error: File does not exist or locked. VMFS path: [datastore]

I was also getting a message in the veeam B&R 6.1 app along the lines of:

Code: Select all

Failed to retrieve updated or changed rows from the table ReportSessionView
It was a simple thing in the end, but thought I would share with the world to save someone else 5 minutes. When I tried to add the host as an indvidual host into veeam, it generated a "what-you-talking-about-willis?" type of error on the host name... so...

Make sure that you have a domain DNS record for the host so the name can be properly resolved!! (Doh!)

This appeared to fix the above errors.
