Remove Server

Post by stevea »

I have used Veeam to migrate some virtual machines from one cluster to another (via replication). We are now ready to decommission the first cluster and I would like to remove the servers from the Veeam list. When I right-click on the server and choose "remove server," I am presented with a list of objects that it will delete. The objects listed are the machines that I migrated. I would expect the backups to be deleted, but not the actual running VMs. Am I safe to assume that Veeam will simply delete the backup files and not impact the actual running machines?

Thanks in advance.

It should not, but I will ask QC to double check the scenario just in case.

Steve, it appears that removing the server from Veeam Backup tree will delete all backups and replicas belonging to it along. So best is to leave the server in Veeam list. Alternatively, you could clone your replicas before removing the server.
