fileserver backup

Post by kornelg »

hello,
i have guest clustered fileserver.these vms are in 2 hyper v hosts.
i want to backup the disk that has all the data.but this disk is added in the vm as a lun through iscsi.not through the hyper v in the vm settings scsi disk and lun.
in veeam i cannot backup this disk.when i make a new job and add this vm it recognizes only the capacity of the vhd and not the other disk where all ours data are.
is it possible to backup?

Hi John,

No, disks added via in-guest iSCSI initiators cannot be backed up via Veeam B&R as these disks are not "visible" in VM configuration (Hyper-V level).

Thanks!
