Sharepoint SQL logs not truncating.

Post by jadams159 »

Yesterday I Enabled Application Aware Processing and set the Advance section to truncate logs on successful backup. The job completed successfully, however the .LDF file sizes did not change, so I'm assumming that they weren't truncated. However, in the job details there is a step for "Truncating transaction logs" with a green checkmark, and it took 22 minutes.

The DBs in question are in Full Recovery mode.

Justin, do you have any related messages in the Windows Event Log?

I don't have any 3041 Event IDs in the logs. The application logs stated that each DB and Log files was backed up successfully.

FWIW, My environment matches identically. ESXi5.1, Server 2008 R2 and SQL 2008R2, Veeam 6.5.

Thanks

2 days of successfull, application aware backups and my .ldf sfiles are still huge. No ideas?

There are no errors or warnings in the logs of the SQL server.

I'm afraid that job debug logs review is required. Can you please contact our technical team and post your support case number for future reference?
