Backup Repositiories / Wan Accelerators BU?

Post by larry »

Is there any reason to backup the Backup Repositiories and or Wan Accelerators servers. I only use them for Veeam and it seems I could just make a new one. If I kept a copy of the WAN accelertor server ( just a snap shot) , can I just restore to a old version or is there some source target sync I need to worry about?

Hello Larry,

It’s completely up to you - I guess backup of the backup infrastructure could save you some time in case you have to restore everything from scratch.
can I just restore to an old version or is there some source target sync I need to worry about?
This should work with no issues: taking snapshot of WAN accelerator would save all the cache created by first job cycles and again it could save you some time, as the first time backup copy job could heavily load WAN link. Moreover if you revert WAN accelerator from a snapshot all the existing backup copy job will continue to run normally.

Hope this makes sense.
