export backup in powershell
Hi,
Is there a powershell command that does the same as rightclicking on a backup in the GUI and selecting "Export Backup...", which creates a vbk file containing only that restore point of that VM ?
I thought that the command export-vbrbackup might do the same thing but it seems to copy the whole .vib file to another location
Thanks

Re: export backup in powershell
Hello,
unfortunately not... the cmdlet sounds similar, but it is an old cmdlet. We are working on this, but I have no ETA yet.
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: export backup in powershell
thank you for the quick answer.
I guess I'll do a lot of mouse-clicking then.

Re: export backup in powershell
Has there been any change in this?
We're looking to automate decom's and currently use the export backup function to grab the last version and disconnect that setting from the Job it was in.

Justin, do you need to export latest backup or latest job configuration? Thanks!

Re: export backup in powershell
We were on 9.5u4 and that command wasn't available to us. We just upgraded to v10, so we're looking into that now.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: export backup in powershell
To avoid further confusion in case somebody encounters this thread:
- Export-VBRBackup is an old cmdlet, which simply copies backups chosen to another folder. We consider it as a candidate for deprecation.
- Export-VBRRestorePoint is introduced in v10 to mirror Export Backup functionality from the UI.
Cheers!
