New Cmdlet Request Default Advanced Settings

Post by micoolpaul »

Hi,

I like using the default advanced settings and think it'd be handy for automation & validation purposes if we could query the default advanced settings via a Get cmdlet and the update them via a Set cmdlet. It'd especially be handy if we could have PowerShell use the advanced defaults as well, last I remembered Veeam doesn't so I'm sorry if that bit is an outdated request.

I'd like to query the defaults so I can then review my jobs and look for deviations, at present I have to have a template job that I query its parameters and compare to the other jobs, but that feels clunky.

Thanks!

Hi Michael,

Which job types do you mean? There is no universal approach to getting defaults because job settings vary from platform to platform. Also, some settings require adjusting entity ids (target repository, vss options), which doesn't align with the question of obtaining defaults right away. Apart from that, overall, you can create default specs on more granular levels (active full options, schedule options etc.) given that no ids required.
Hence, please elaborate so that we could help.

Thanks,
Oleg
