Hello,
there was a post about this in 2015 - disable all proxies that are not needed, run Powershell for the restore and then re-enable all proxies.
This really doesn't work well for us.
We have submitted a feature request via support (Case 05982411).
If you also need this function, please support us by also submitting a feature request.
The function is available in the GUI from the beginning, unfortunately not as a Powershell command.
In the GUI, this would be at Restore -> Pick Proxy.
We need this function for the hotadd proxy, which can write the restore to local datastores much faster than the pure network block device function.
Kind regards
Oliver

Re: Powershell command for mass restore to a specific hotadd proxy (pick proxy)
Hi Oliver,
Since it's about Pick proxy to use option, I'm assuming you mean it for vSphere backups entire vm restore.
Thanks, noted your request for powershell. In case you are interested in other API ways to use it, we have Entire VM Restore for vSphere backups in our VBR REST API, where pick proxy to use feature is already implemented.
Best regards,
Oleg
