Reinstall Agents on Hyper-V host
Hi
We're re-installing a bunch of Hyper-V hosts with the latest roll-up pack for Server 2016. The quickest way for us is to just delete the host and completely reinstall it through PXE boot. After the host is running again (same name, same IP), VEEAM of course has trouble connecting since there are probably some GUID changes or so. In the VEEAM GUI you see those hosts with a red X on them. In the GUI you just go to properties, next, next, finish and you're done.
But since we're looking at at least 50 hosts, I was wondering if this could be done through powershell. I thought to use Remove-VBRServer to first remove the host and then add the host again with Add-VBRHvHost. But when I do that, the host gets added as a separate host as if I want to use it to backup from directly. I would like to just refresh the installation of the hosts in the SCVMM object.
Is there another way to do that?

Re: Reinstall Agents on Hyper-V host
Hi,
Maybe I got something wrong, but since you're using SCVMM to manage those 50 servers, why don't you just click-through SCVMM wizard in VBR one time (via 'Edit') ? That should do the trick.
Thanks!

Actually, I didn't know that. Found out with support today

Just so you know - you can trigger rescan automatically via this cmdlet. Thanks!
