Separate vcloud jobs

Post by masonit »

Hi

Is it possible with get-vbrjob to see if a vcloud job is created on vbr server or from EM self-service portal? I can see that EM created job has a specific name standard. But I don't think that is enough.

Hi Magnus,

I know of two methods to distinguish this:
  • Job Name:
    • You already mentioned this
  • Description:
    • For default description, checking the user who created job
    • Put identifying text in VBR created jobs. Managed by SP
If your end goal is making all of these jobs visible to your tenant via the EM Self-Service Portal, you can use this cmdlet against all VCD Backup Jobs: Set-VBRvCloudOrganizationJobMapping

Thanks!

I wanted to use description. I created a job template for EM created jobs to use. But the description is replaced instead of copied when job is created. :/
