Unexpected Behavior in Set-VBRBackupRepository

Post by Vek17 »

I open a support ticket [ID# 03290000] but I was advised to also post here.

Set-VBRBackupRepository resets the -Server property to default when no value is specified which does not match the provided documentation which states:

"To modify settings, enter the necessary parameters with new values. The parameters that you omit will remain unchanged."
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... tml?ver=95

This was observed when working with CIFS repos where the server property corresponds to the mount.

Tried to reproduce the said behaviour - in my case, mount server stayed as is, while gateway server got returned to original (automatic selection) mode.

Are you sure in your example it was mount server that was changed? If so, can you post your script here, so that I can reproduce the said behaviour and submit all issues to DEV/QA teams at once.

Thanks!

I apologize I misspoke. What occurs is the gateway server is reset to automatic when server is not specified as you observed.

Will discuss it with DEV and QA teams and update the topic, once I have more information. Thanks!

Bug confirmed. Should be fixed in one of the next product releases. Thanks!
