Veeam Agent for Windows instant restore to Hyper-V 2016
Hi,
I've got an issue when performing an instant restore migration for a Veeam Agent for Windows backup. Steps to replicate the issue are below:
1) Back up a server using Veeam Agent for Windows. This backs up to a Cloud Connect Gateway and the repository is imported into the VBR server.
2) On the VBR server, rescan the repository
3) Perform an instant restore to a Hyper-V 2016 server using either PowerShell or the VBR console (both work)
4) Attempt to migrate the instant restore into production using PowerShell:
$InstantRecovery = Get-VBRInstantRecovery
Start-VBRHvInstantRecoveryMigration -InstantRecovery $InstantRecovery
I'm getting the error:
Start-VBRHvInstantRecoveryMigration : Restart of the instant recovery session 'server' is not supported for '6'
platform.
At line:1 char:1
+ Start-VBRHvInstantRecoveryMigration -InstantRecovery $InstantRecovery
+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
+ CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Start-VBRHvInstantRecoveryMigration], ArgumentException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : System.ArgumentException,Veeam.Backup.PowerShell.Cmdlets.StartVBRHvInstantRecoveryMigrat
ion
Any help would be great. Perhaps there's another way to automate this with a VBR API?
Thanks.
Mark

What exactly does this mean? How repository is connected to a backup console? As ordinary repository or as cloud one? This backs up to a Cloud Connect Gateway and the repository is imported into the VBR server.

In the VBR console, I went to the backup infrastructure tab and added the repository that the cloud connect gateway was configured to use.

It's tracked in our bug system, but I cannot comment on when exactly it will be fixed. Thanks.
