Veeam Powershell

Post by jeromyhensley »

I'm wanting to load the veeam powershell snapin on my laptop to create and manage my veeam backup jobs without having to do this while logged on to the server. Is this possible and how can it be done?

*Note:
I tried installing Veeam BR w/ powershell on my laptop however I get a pop-up message "Setup was unable to install Veeam Backup Catalog" every time.

Thanks!!!

For remote management, you should install and use Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager component. This will give you web UI in which you will be able to monitor and control jobs, and see the reports. Thanks!

Yes I do use the enterprise manager but it's limited in how much it can do. The main objective I'm looking to accomplish is create, configure, and run backup jobs remotely from powershell.

We have extended Enterprise Manager in v6 so that it can now edit and clone jobs. Controlling the jobs (run/retry/stop) is available today. However, if you insist on using PowerShell, then AFAIK PowerShell 2.0 does support remote operations.

Thanks for the info about enterprise manager v6. I saw you tweeted something about v6 release. Is it available yet?
