Virtual LAB - Standalone Host - DesignatedVMFolderName

Hello,

I'll try to create a Virtual Lab using PowerShell.
My host is a standalone host.

I just use this simple command : Add-VBRViAdvancedVirtualLab -Name $Name -Server $ESXi -CacheDatastore $datastore

But I have this error : Add-VBRViAdvancedVirtualLab : VM folder configuration is disabled because host is a standalone host.

When I create using Web GUI, VM folder is automatically disabled and I can create my Virtual Lab.

Is there an option in PowerShell to disable the creation of the VM folder ?

Hi,

We are aware of this bug. Can be reproduced for both Add-VBRViSimpleVirtualLab and Add-VBRViAdvancedVirtualLab.
Found in v11, to be fixed in vNext.

I'm on V10, so I need to connect my ESXi to a vCenter if I want to use Powershell to create my Virtual Lab ?

Correct. However, if you want to just add ESXi to a vCenter for the sake of Virtual Lab creation through Powershell, then disconnect it and use as a standalone host, I'm afraid virtual lab won't work properly. Thanks!
