Custom Filters
Hello everybody, the scenario is as follow. I need to create a custom report that verifies if the name on the inventory for each VM matchs with the folder container for the vmx file, is that possible?
Thanks in advanced

Re: Custom Filters
Hello,
You can do that via using our Custom Infrastructure report. Just select virtual machine as an object and choose Name, VMX file properties to be displayed in the report columns.
Let me know if that helps!

Hello,
And yes, you can use custom filter for each property.
Thanks!

Re: Custom Filters
Helo Vitaly S. I already create that report, but when I made the "Cutsom Filter" with this data:
"VMX File" is "Ends with" "%NAME%"
It returns no data "No data available".
Thank in advanced.

Re: Custom Filters
Probably because it ends with %name.vmx
Just checked in my lab and such a filter works.

Re: Custom Filters
I'd already try as you mention but still returns "No data avaliable"; is the porcent sign the right operator to include one columns value on the custom filter?

Re: Custom Filters
I believe all operators can be substituted by existing options. How would you use the operator?
I would suggest to try contains instead of ends with

Re: Custom Filters
I already tried "Contains" but it does not discriminate and shows all the results. What i need is to only appear the VM that the inventory name correspond with the folder container.

Re: Custom Filters
I've got your point. The procedure we provided above should do the trick.
