Historical Information Report

Post by Jack1874 »

Guys, when I configure the Historical Information report it lets me select which jobs I want to report on.

It also shows lots of jobs with (deleted) in front of the job name. I understand that I have deleted them and can deselect them for being reported.

How can I go about clearing up those deleted jobs so that they do not show as an option to report on? Where is that source data kept...

I'd just like to do some housekeeping ...

Hello, the information about deleted jobs remain in DB along with other data in accordance with retention.
I`m not sure if you can delete the custom information from the DB via Veeam ONE GUI. Could you provide the use case why you need it to be deleted?
Thanks!

Hi Nikita, there is no particular operational reason to remove it.

We have quite a few deleted jobs showing as we 'messed" around a fair bit during testing.

If it can be removed with ease then we can live with it.

I`ll discuss the topic with devs. If it can free up significant space, it makes sense to add an option to GUI.
Thanks for the feedback!

I`ve talked to devs and it looks like the information about deleted jobs takes just hundreds of KBs, so not that significant to create a feature for it.
You can run an SQL script to delete the information from DB, by the way.

I would recommend to wait till retention policy kicks in and deletes this data. In this case you will be on the safe side when generating other reports (there could be some dependencies on this data).

I saw this post and not sure if it's asking the same thing I'm wondering.

We don't use Veeam One. But if I go to a job and right click it i can view an HTML report as well as the latest statistics info (and click left arrow to see previous).

That HTML report is massive and takes forever to load. We have hundreds of tests in the first month and it loads all that data each time you open the report.

Is there a way to not delete backups but stop showing so many when we open that report?

Hi rnt-guy,

Yeah... original post is talking about Veeam ONE reporting and not Veeam B&R. If you're running our latest release Veeam B&R v9 u1 and still see massive slowness, then it is worth opening a ticket with our support team to see what can be done there.

Thanks!
