Hello
You can use the Protected VMs report. In this report there is a table for unprotected virtual machines:

Can we exclude machines from this report based on vmware tags?

Hi Salmeida
Welcome to the forum.

I apologize. My previous statement was not correct. VM exclusion is an option. Business views are not required:

Best,VM exclusion rule: defines a list of VMs that should be excluded from the report scope. You can enter VM names explicitly or create a wildcard mask by using the asterisk (*) to replace any number of characters. Multiple entries are separated by semicolon. For example, the following string will exclude machines with the _R&D suffix from appearing in the report:*_R&D.

What i want is to exclude machines that i know for sure won't do backups. otherwise it's a messy report.

I will share your request with the Veeam One team. Business view can be used today to filter VM based on tags for the report.
Best,
Fabian

Hello,
Yes, exactly. You can switch to the Business view objects, and if you have already synced them with your VONE, you can select the report based on the tags you want.
The functionality already exists. Some details: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/one/m ... ml?ver=120
Let us know! Thanks a lot!

Re: How to get the report of VMs that is not backed up by Veeam?
I've been playing with this report and, while it contains the data I'm looking for, it's actually TOO pretty. Is there any way to extra the raw data from the report and export it to an Excel file? If I use the option to Save As an Excel file, it still includes a whole bunch of useless (to me) such as headers and Job Status, which means that I can't easily sort on a given column. I don't care what vApp servers are in or the status of the most recent job. All I'm really interested in is the name of the vCloud tenant (which the report doesn't provide) and the servers that aren't in backup jobs. I'm not averse to writing a post-reporting script that takes the servers and maps them to their customers, but an Excel document that's full of reporting markup is pointless.Mildur wrote: ↑Feb 13, 2024 7:30 am You can use the Protected VMs report. Re: How to get the report of VMs that is not backed up by Veeam?
Hi David
Our upcoming version v13 will provide much better and faster reporting capabilities, such as exporting clean CSV with only plain data. I believe that should help with your request.
For now in current versions you may have to consider to use PowerShell on a Veeam backup server to build your own export. Maybe @jorgedlcruz has some additional ideas.
Best,
Fabian

Re: How to get the report of VMs that is not backed up by Veeam?
Hello David,
Mildur is correct, at the moment the export options that Microsoft SSRS offer us are what they are, limited. But in upcoming v13, you will get the full power of clean CSV export, which is fantastic. There are always ways to get that great report you love right now, with comfortable PowerShell, super disclaimer (not supported) so you can ask about it here, but please do not open support tickets: I have been using this method for years, even before working at Veeam, to put the data to Grafana and others. But with upcoming v13, all of this it will be a breeze.
Thank you!
