Log into VeeamOne Reeporting

Post by Steben »

Hello,

We installed VeeamOne back in either 2018 or 2019 but never really used it to its potential. The staff member that created the logins has left and the one recorded will not open reporting.
Is there a way to create a new login or reset the password for this application? When opening reporting you get a browser window with a credentials box. Nothing is working there.

TIA

Hello Steve,

You should add the account to the Veeam group on a Veeam ONE server.
The user account must either:
Be a member of the Veeam ONE Administrators, Veeam ONE Power Users or Veeam ONE Read-Only Users group.
Have permissions assigned on objects in the VMware vCenter Server or VMware Cloud Director inventory hierarchy.
This prerequisite applies to the VMware vSphere platform only.
You can find more details on that page

Thanks

@RomanK thank you for your reply. I have been taken off this and working in other areas. This will be looked at again in the new year.
I will look at your suggestion then. Thank you.

Is there any thought of granting user access using the method similar to VBR and BEM, i.e., via the internal roles and assigning users to roles instead of using the server's local groups? Since I do not have sole control of those local groups, e.g., the Windows admins have admin password, there may be users with VONE admin authority that should not have it.

Hello,
More detailed SSO, and RBAC is something we are considering for future releases, yes. At the moment, everything we have are those VONE Permissions that you can assign to users/groups as you described yes.

Thank you
