memory utilisation in How Many More VMs Can be Provisioned
i am using this report but i have this weird issue.
i am using the following settings
CPU utilization limit: 70.00 %
Memory utilization limit: 70.00 %
Max utilization per datastore: 90.00 %
Datastore read rate: 750 MBps
Datastore write rate: 750 MBps
VM profile: Average VM configuration
Use Reservations: False
Put 1 host in maintenance mode for each cluster: True
and for one cluster it reports the memory utilisation at 114 %
the cluster has 2 esx hosts
and a total of 1024 GB of memory (each host has 512 GB).
vcenter reports that i have a total capacity of 1022659 MB , 267359 MB reserverd and 755300 MB available.
one host currently has 20 % memory load and the other 60 %
where does the 114 % come from ?
if remove the one host maintenace mode option i get a memory utilisation of 57% and can add 53 vm's
it seems to double the current load for its utilisation
can anyone explain how this works ?

Re: memory utilisation in How Many More VMs Can be Provisio
Hello Jurriaan,
The report`s logic is pretty simple: it calculates average powered on VM`s(or defined VM`s) resource consumption and provides a number of VMs to be provisioned before one of thresholds(CPU, Memory etc.) will be reached.
Thanks.

Could you clarify, please where you found this value? Is it average or predicted usage?jurriaan_cap wrote:and for one cluster it reports the memory utilisation at 114 %

it is the current average usage that is at 114 %
which is weird since its now where near that figure as far as i can tell

That`s an unexpected behavior. Here "Memory Usage" metric is used and it should be more than 100%.
So, could you contact Veeam support team for logs review to find the issue?
Thank you.

i am running a 30 day trail as a POC , so no support has been arranged yet.
what is the best route to take if you are in a POC situation and need assistence from Veeam ?
