Hi All,
Just wondering on how accurate the CPU statistics are from the VM/Host performance reports in Reporter. By looking at the graphs it looks as though the CPU usage values are averaged "snapshots" with around 1 - 2hrs in between.
My concern here is that spikes of CPU usage may be concealed, can anyone explain how Reporter polls CPU values from vCenter?
Many thanks,
Steve.

Re: Reporter CPU stats
Hi Steve,
Reporter is pulling historical performance counters from vCenter Server. We use 2 hour roll-ups in the performance report pack, so you're right CPU spikes most likely will be smoothed on the graphs.
Our next version will not have this behavior though...Our default intervals will be changed to 5 minutes data stamps for 14 days and 2 hours for everything that is older than 14 days.
Thanks.
