Is there a way to request some additional reporting be added to include those of us who use storage snapshot backups? A feature request for a future update?
All of the information I want is in Veeam, just not easily reportable. Most of the reports for virtual machines being backed up do not include storage snapshots, which I understand, but it would be nice to have a category of reports centered around this type of backup. I feel like we can't be the only organization that uses storage snapshots, they are really convenient.
I know the information would be limited because a lot of it happens on the SAN side, but Veeam knows what virtual machines live on the datastores so I would think there would be some useful reporting available.
Thank you!

Re: Reporting for Snapshot Based Backups
Hello Nate,
Storage snapshot reporting and monitoring are on a roadmap but I, unfortunately, cannot provide any ETA as usual.
However, it would be interesting to know a bit more details about your use cases. What reports are you interested in? What data you would like to see? The more details the better.
Thank you for the feedback.

Re: Reporting for Snapshot Based Backups
There is a lot of great stuff in Veeam ONE and I am definitely still learning how it works.
A lot of the same reports that are present for the typical virtual machine backups would be helpful. For example the protected vms report doesn't seem to recognize the snapshot jobs - so a specific report similar to that, but geared towards these jobs would be helpful with a list of excluded virtual machines from those datastores. I do not think the global exclusions appear in the reports I have run. A report that could show the number of local snapshots and the number secondary storage snapshots, there could be limitations there from the SAN. Maybe how much space they are taking up too?
Unrelated the job configuration dump report would be fantastic if it would be in a more Excel friendly format to allow better filtering and comparing of jobs. Or just a job comparison report to help you find maybe a configuration outlier. Just a thought.
I do not know if any of that is helpful. Thank you!
