Veeam Reporter installation issue

Hi,

I'm trying to install a licensed version of Veeam Reporter on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (where I've already installed Veeam Monitor)
After a first attempt in which the SSRS instance was installed but not Reporter, I ran the setup again and I now get this error: "Selected SSRS instance has invalid configuration and cannot be used"

The version of SQL Server is SQL Server 2008 R2 Express.

Any idea ?

Hi Eric,

I believe the easiest way to resolve it would be to uninstall existing SSRS instance and re-run the setup again. This will deploy SSRS server and automatically configure it to work with Veeam Reporter.

I uninstalled everything and I still get the same error...

I will probably contact the support then.
Maybe Veeam Reporter isn't compatible with my version of SQL Server Express ?

Do you host any other databases on that SQL Server Express? If this is not the case, then let our setup install (form scratch) and configure SQL Server for you.

My SQL Server Express doesn't host anything yet (although I'm planning to install Veeam Monitor on the same machine)
Are all the versions of SQL Server Express compatible with Reporter ?

You should be running Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express with Advanced Services so that you could use it with Reporter 4.

On a side note, in our next major release we are making SSRS optional, which means that you could use any SQL Server Express edition to run Reporter (now part of Veeam ONE solution).

I'm experiencing exactly this same issue, which I have tried to resolve by reinstalling windows, IIS and Veeam Reporter - without any luck.

This is a completely clean machine running windows 2003 R2 with SP2. I let the installer create it's own database. However after a long, long time spent downloading and settings up the instance.. it always ends with: "The setup was unable to install new instance of SSRS"

You can try to follow these steps to deploy Reporter 4 without internet connection. If it doesn't help, please open a support case.

Sadly, after performing these steps I'm still confronted with this issue.

Note that downloading the software isnt the problem. It's the actual installation of the SQL instance that fails.

That doesn't do me much good though. I've reinstalled windows 3 times now, so the only way some file could exist is that it's being done by the veeam installer.

Unfortunately, I cannot track what was the resolution to this issue, as no one has provided his support case ID, so please contact our technical team directly.

Just on a side note, we are going to release a new version of Veeam ONE very shortly, which will not require SSRS any more. If you could wait for a couple of weeks, then I would suggest evaluating Veeam ONE v6, which has LOTS of new and really cool features.

I'm doing a POC for one of our customers, and i wish i could wait couples of week, environment is huge but the only pending task is veeam reporter as i have tried every solution mentioned in veeam forums
