Veeam SQL Agent Backup Report

Hi Team,

I need your help to generate Veeam Application servers job status report which runs from application end via "VEEAM SQL Agent". I don't see option available in Veeam one portal. Please help me out also suggest if any PowerShell script help to fetch daily/monthly SQL agent backup report.

Hi David,

Thank you for your inputs in our case we have not added database servers to protection group. All SQL agent backup configuration and retention managed by Application team via agent backup. We can see those jobs on Veeam server under Jobs--->Applications option. Please suggest if there is way to fetch report or any powershell script available ?

Hi Jagdish,

Agent-based backups are included in this report as well, and you can filter on the Primary Job Type. I mentioned the Veeam Plugins for Enterprise solutions as I was not quite sure what type of jobs were in use, but the report covers more than just the Plugins.

It doesn't work as I said this work if the servers added to protection group as suggested by support team. This is kind of tool limitation and need some solution/workaround also if any PowerShell script help to fetch SQL agent report please suggest.

There are critical SQL database servers backup to Veeam via Veeam SQL Agent, is there no way to track the SQL backup job successful or failed day to day ?

We are looking your help on below,

1. The SQL database backup successfully completed from last run
2. The SQL database backup Failed from last run
3. What all SQL database backup completed (There are multiple database in one SQL application)
4. What all SQL database backup Failed (There are multiple database in one SQL application)

Note: These servers are not added to protection group, The backup job configured from client machine Full/Diff and log backup also retention configured from client end. I tried Veeam One report "Protect computer", "Computer Backup status" under Veeam Backup Overview, also tried under "Veeam Enterprise Application Plug-in" - Database log protection history and database processing verification

Please suggest if there is any possible way or script the get agent backup report

Unfortunately we do not monitor unmanaged plugins, including SQL Plugin because it is unmanaged by default, at least for now.

We have a feature request regarding this topic, and we are currently working on it.

We do not have any eta on it, but hopefully we can come back again in some time with better news.

As you said currently report option not available for Veeam SQL Agent backup, Can you please suggest what best practice we need to configure to secure our SQL backup as we must know day to day backup status on all database for any disaster recovery. There may be some possible configuration to get SQL reporting in current versions please suggest.

you can create your own report using powershell, try to use get-vbrpluginjob and get-vbrpluginbackupsession
be aware that get-vbrpluginbackupsession will return all sessions, in version 12.2 you can set a maximum of sessions fetched.
