Support for VergeOS

Veeam support case# 08091299 - Use of oVirt to connect to VergeOS

Just wondering if native support for VergeOS is on your roadmap and if there is any guess as to timeframe for this. We have been a Veeam customer for many years, but have recently purchased a new server stack running VergeOS, and were under the belief that Veeam would be able to backup our servers using oVirt. We are having issues making the connection between Veeam and Verge, and the technician who processed my support ticket suggested that I submit a ticket through the R&D Forums, so that it could be tracked to determine demand for support of VergeOS.

We are working with Verge on the integration. They have worked to build the integration through our universal hypervisors API program and we're working on validation and releasing the official plug-in later this year. If you're attempting to beta test it and add it as RHV and seeing issues, you should reach out to them to provide feedback.

Thanks for the information. After about an hour of trying to figure out was going on, it was suggested by the Verge tech I spoke with to download and install the Veeam Community Edition on a new VM, just to see if I could connect. That installation of Veeam connected without issue. The connection was instant (as it was in the test environment of the Verge tech), so my assumption is that there is something funky with our Veeam server. We have plans to rebuild it anyway (new server, new OS, etc.), so at this point, I think we are just going to move up the rebuild.

Thank you again, for the information.
