one of my clients (a big laboratory) does have some analysis machines with dedicated pcs or integrated desktop pcs, which need to be backed up.
- These analysis machines and their desktop pcs are powered on when needed.
- These pcs needs to be backed up application aware.
- Some of the machines have MS SQL databases running.
- Not all of these machines are domain joined.
1. Define a protection group, configured as a server, create a scheduled backup task
+ Application aware
- When the client isn't powered on, the backup will fail
2. Define a protection group, configure as a client, create a scheduled backup task and let the pc automatically run the backup, as soon as the pc is powered on
+ Missed backups are created as soon as the pc is running
- No application aware backup
What we need:
We need to create application aware backups of these pcs, which have to be scheduled and if a pc is powered off, the pc get's backed up as soon as the machine is powered on.
Is there any way to accomplish this?
Thank you very much
With kind regards,
