For agent-based backups, you have to create a user account on the backed-up client that Veeam has access to. And you have to give Veeam Backup and Replication the password to that user account.
We recently had a security audit, and that was marked as a very high risk. We were told to either get this fixed or stop using Veeam because the risk is too high.
How do we allow Veeam B&R to connect to clients without a separate user account?

Re: Agent backups without accounts on clients?
Hi Jason
You can use a protection group from type "Computers with pre-installed backup agents".
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
With it you create an installation package plus configuration file which must be deploy outside of Veeam Backup & Replication. For example with your own deployment tool or "manually" by a local administrator.
Best,
Fabian

Re: Agent backups without accounts on clients?
Other than installing it manually, is there any disadvantage of doing it this way?
