Agents version 4 unexpected updated when rescanning "manually added"

The "Manually Added" protection group in my environment had the "Install agent automatically" box checked, but did not have the "auto-update agent" checked. After upgrading VBR to version 10, I performed a rescan on the "Manually added" group (due to performing some cleanup). This caused all the agents in my environment to update unexpectedly.

I have since disabled the "Install agent automatically" check box as well. Has anyone else seen this issue?

VBR version 10 install package has a screen (you blink, you miss it) that includes automatically updating all detected agents regardless of the settings.

Veeam B&R updates 'agent redistributable' package (it's installed on Veeam B&R and is used to deploy / update agents across all connected machines), but upgrade procedure is fully controlled by protection groups.

Support reviewed logs and determined that the "manually added" protection group had "Auto-update Clients True". Although I thought I had this set to disabled, the logs indicated otherwise. Seems like it was a case of us overlooking a setting on an unused protection group. I will be double checking this setting on all protection groups immediately after upgrades moving forward to be safe, but this does seem like misconfiguration on our system.

Thank you for the update. Out of curiosity, you've been using manually added group instead of others since it's easier to add machine directly to the job, right? How many machines you have in manually added protection group? Cheers!
