Am I doing something wrong?
I'm trying very unsuccessfully to test Veeam B&R on site here. I have installed the latest version as instructed and tried to add physical machines to backup. It says I need to have the paid version? I assumed it was free for 30 days? In the past I only used Iperius for backing up physical workstations so I'm not familiar with the veamm setup. But the boss was told veeam is the way to go. I'm still not sure as initial support is quite hard to get. Maybe I should be going to a vendor instead? I logged a ticket on friday in case that's needed. 03394065

Hi Rob,
In order to protect the physical machine you should initiate Agent deployment from within Veeam B&R GUI.
Please review the Getting Started article in the User Guide. Thanks!

Thanks, Yes I tried to deploy the agent to a workstation but it failed saying that I needed the paid version to do that task. I'll check the getting started article again to see if I missed something.

The license key for Backup & Replication probably doesn't include the agent license key which would explain why you're getting an error. The licensed version of the agent is required for management from the console, even if it's only a 30-day trial agent license. Please contact your local Veeam sales rep or SE who can provide the proper keys to get you going.
