B&R With Veeam Agent
Hi,
I have an issue what i would like to solve.
We have B&R server for Laptop backups. Agents are installed by scanning AD OU Computers.
The issue: We have Flex workplaces. The Deskphone is between the laptop and switch. We have 2 kind of phones (100 Mbit or 1000 Mbit)
I would like the best performance on the laptop but fast backup. Now backupping the laptops with 10 Mbit but that takes a lot of time.
If I put it on 100 Mbit then Laptops with a 100 Mb connection can't work.
There is no option like 10% of the max network connection. Windows is already seeing what the network speed is.
Kind regards,
Daag van der Meer

Hello Daag,
Can you please clarify what type of network adapter on the laptop side is used? All the mentioned agents are controlled via Veeam B&R server and you use managed by agent job type to distribute the configuration, right? Thank you!

Hi Dima,
Default the local ethernet (Max 1Gbps). WLAN and Other network is limit with the Network Traffic Rules.
All agents controlled by Veeam B&R and distributed.
And Last week updated Veeam B&R to V10, But "issue" is also in 9.5

Thanks! We have an options to limit bandwidth consumption for managed agents, you can enable it under protection groups settings. Will that work for your environment? Thanks!

Then you limit it for the complete group. There are laptops in the group what can have higher speed.
This option is only possible if you have a fixed desk. With always the same network speed.

Is it possible to split these machines into two separate protection groups? If yes, you can create different throttling rules for each machine type.
