Hi Guys,
Looking for a solution:
physical server in the same rack as the backup repo. However due business requirements, two devices are on separate network segments. Is it possible to have this server connected to the backup repo (private IP) using a cross over on a separate NIC and back it up directly? I am trying to avoid the traffic from going out and back into the network.
Thanks
Kit.

Re: Backing up over a cross over cable
Hello,
the software works on every physical topology, as long as the network requirements are met
If everything is "directly connected" without routing, then the preferred networks might be useful.
Best regards,
Hannes

Hi @Hannes,
So, any network that is reachable through the system, can be used by Veeam.

Hello,
yes, what's the background of the question? I mean, the network requirements from above need to be met to make the software really work. That's where usually problems occur.
Best regards,
Hannes
