Backup browser closes by itself

Post by FireBIade »

I have a file server that has approx 50TB of data which is backed up as a volume style backup. I don't have a spare server to test the backup restore to for the whole volume so I test with doing a files and folder style restore. The backup browser opens, then spends about 2-3 hours thinking before any folder structure is shown, however sometimes it just closes by itself. Is there a timeout feature on this that I can adjust?

Hi David

Yes, we have a timeout.
For the timeout, you can try this registry key.

Mounting for 2-3 hours seems as bad performance.
How is the connection between the backup repository and your server? What sort of backup target are you using?

Thanks

Hi Fabian,

Thanks I will take a look at increasing the timeouts. The backup storage is an 80TB NAS (raid 5) with 1GB teamed NICs, so it's not the best by any means, we will eventually get to 10GB connected NAS.

Thanks

David.

Hi David,

Hours-long mounting is definitely something worth investigating with support.
Depending on configuration, it might be related to the repository settings and will require more than a timeout regkey to solve.

1. check if you are on latest build
2. open a support ticket

/Thanks!
