Re: backup jobs configuration
Hello mirfan,
Application-aware processing will allow you to use pre/post freeze scripts along with the image-level backup of virtual machine, good overview of possible options from the best practice guide. In addition to that I'd recommend to check the Veeam Plug-in for SAP HANA as that might be quite handy when we talk about application processing. Very detailed blog post series 3 steps to protect your SAP HANA database if you are interested. Cheers!

Re: backup jobs configuration
Hello,
Could you please clarify which database are you running on the server you're going to back up?
Probably, it would make sense to leverage the pre-freeze and post-thaw scripts in order to stop the SAP system before backup and start it once the job is completed. At least it is one of prerequisites mentioned in this article.
Thanks!

Re: backup jobs configuration
I have no examples of scripts for SAP server or Sybase but the basic idea is to bring application data into consistent state prior backup. I guess that "quiesce database" command should be used in the scripts for Sybase and "release" tag should be specified in the post-thaw script to resume database activity.
Thanks!
Thanks!
