Dear all,
I need to run Veeam backup for about 50 Windows servers. I dropped them all in a Protection Group and defined a backup definition using the group. About 10 of the 50 servers need to get backup for their D: drive as well, some others also for F: and T:. If found no way to specify extra drive letters for backup for servers that are a member of a Protection Group. Do I overlook things here? Or should I create a separate backup for drive letters beyond C:? That would not be a great solution.
Best regards,
Marc.

Re: Backup of D: drive for server in Protection Group
Hi Marc
Is your goal to backup the entire machine? Then you don't have to choose a specific drive. Just create a backup job to backup the entire computer.
If you only want to backup specified disks per computer, you need to create a backup job for each disk constellation.
One Backup Job always protects the same disks for all assigned agents. So you may need different backup jobs based on your requirements.
Thanks
Fabian

Re: Backup of D: drive for server in Protection Group
Fabian,
Your question is very valid: for some servers, we need to backup up all volumes, but for some not all of them. So I cannot specify that the entire computer can be backed up.
I'll go for creating a separate backup definition for all servers that need extra volumes beyond the C: drive to be backed up.
It would be nice to have this as a suggestion for V13.
Thanks for your quick reply.
Marc.
