I currently use Veeam Agent stand alone to backup workstations and laptops but would prefer to manage them centrally in a Protection Group. The problem is that they are connected to the network at unpredictable times.
In the stand alone agent you can schedule a job to run when the backup storage is online. Is there any way to do the reverse with a Protection Group? Backup a member of the Protection Group when it comes online (with a maximum of once every 24 hours)? I've looked at the software and searched this group but can't find a solution.

Re: Backup Protection Group when workstation comes online?
Hello JPMS
Create a backup policy for Workstation and select job mode "managed by Agent".
That will give you the same schedule options as for a standalone agent.
I assume you are using Veeam backup repositories as a target. In that case the option you are looking for is likely "When backup target is connected":

Re: Backup Protection Group when workstation comes online?
Thanks for that Fabian
I had a look at the options in our existing Protection Group and couldn't find any way to achieve what I wanted but that was because they are servers. I didn't know that there were different options for Workstations.
