Bare metal restore

Folks,

When I have created recovery media for a physical machine, and I need to do a bare metal restore, and want to boot up the machine using a USB memory stick, how do I do it? I guess that when I have extracted the ISO image onto the USB stick, it is not bootable? How do I make it bootable? Is there a recommended utility that I can use?

The Veeam Agent can create a recovery usb boot stick:

If your machine is lost and you only have the ISO file, try Rufus to create a bootable usb stick:
https://rufus.ie/en/

All our physical machines are managed from the VBR console, and the agent is installed from there, so I have never installed/run the Veeam Agent locally in the protected machines. And I have also used the VBR console to create the recovery media. So I guess Rufus is the way to go for me, then?

Yes, please use Rufus (or similar tools) to create one then.
The VBR console cannot create a bootable USB stick. Only the standalone agent will be able to do that.
