bare metal restore - veeam recovery media did not have driver

Hey Folks,

I just (successfully) performed a bare metal restore. This was a restore to the exact same hardware config.

However, the Veeam recovery media did not have the driver I needed to talk to the storage device. I had to manually inject the driver so that the PE could see the disk.

Why would the "create veeam recovery media" task not capture this driver? Seems like that's the whole point of creating recovery media.

Clearly I'm doing something wrong.

Any pointers?

1. The name of the storage device you are referring to?
2. Did you check the box to collect network and storage drivers during creating recovery media?

Hi Dima,

Thanks. Here are the answers to your questions:

1) The basic "Intel Rapid Storage" driver for a Dell Precision 3660 desktop integrated storage device.
2) Yes, and I just repeated the procedure of recovery media creation and verified "collect network and storage drivers" was selected.

I did a simulated bare metal recovery after repeating the recovery media creation. The PE environment was again unaware of the drive attached to the integrated storage device.

Again, I have successfully completed my bare metal recovery, I'm just wondering why driver capture during recovery media creation did not actually inject the drivers.
