Can't find my OIB?

Post by ChuckS42 »

I set up a new Agent-based backup job to back up a AG-only Windows HA cluster (running on VMware), and it's throwing this error at me: "10/24/2019 7:49:35 AM :: Error: Unable get OIB by id '523411b9-040c-457c-9c19-1c0579591385'", for both cluster nodes. The servers are Windows Server 2016, no shared storage, VBR is 9.5u4b.

Any idea what this is, and how I resolve it? And what's an OIB?

(Case 03829732, opened this morning, but no response yet.)

Hi Chuck!

OIB means: "object in backup", the entity which is created at the level of Veeam configuration database for each server which was backed up.
I don't think it's possible to make some conclusion without debug logs analysis so let's wait what our support team says about this error.

Thanks!

Hi
Same situation for me, new backup of AG using Veeam Agent, did you get any answers to your case?
Same error here; Error: Unable get OIB by id 'c3556dc1-bce6-485e-bf91-13c3ac1841bb'
Will investigatre a litte bit before creating own case.

Hi Mats,

I'd suggest to let our support team to investigate the issue.
The error itself means that there was an attempt to find OIB by its ID in the configuration database but such object does not exist in the corresponding table by some reason.

Please don't forget to share case ID for our reference.

Thanks!

Yah, they did some surgery on the Veeam database to remove the offending OIBs. All clean since then.
