Hello everyone,
I've just created a protection group with two laptops. Subsequently, I set up a backup job with the following configuration:
Windows Backup Job > Workstation > Managed by Agent > Computers: Protection Group > Backup Mode: Entire Computer without USB > Destination: Local storage > Local Folder: E:\Produktionsmaschine
Whenever I use this method, I consistently receive the following error message (there are no issues with any other backup jobs) - Why is there a problem with the Local Folder?
We are using VBR v12.0.
Laptop199.muster.local Failed
11:52:27 Sending backup job configuration 00:03
19.02.2024 11:53:01 Failed Failed to send backup job configuration to OV-HP-LP130.ovalo.local Error: Failed to update backup job Managed by agent job ID: 167d287a-b6fb-449f-b47d-72cd8a2bd70b. Managed by agent job name: Test3. Invalid job configuration: Cannot find a living volume by the name [E:\]
11:52:31 Processing finished with errors at 19.02.2024 11:52:31
I hope you can help me
Best regards,

Hi Max
Local drive means, drive E must be connected to each laptop.
My question to you, where is drive E connected to? Your backup server?
In that case, you need to configure your backup job to use a Veeam backup repository, not a local drive.
Best,
Fabian

Hello Fabian,
yes, we have a storage system connected to our backup server.
I understand, I would then have to connect our virtual drive (from storage system) to each laptop... okay, that's not a good solution. Then my only option is to use the repository.
Thank you for the info!

Hi Max
You can leave it connected to the backup server and add it as a backup repository to the backup server:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
Then configure the agent jobs to use that Veeam backup repository as a back destination:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
Best,
Fabian
