Clarity with Agent Notifications

Post by ps26 »

I receive notifications from our VB&R server for all replication jobs and backup jobs except for:

Agent Backup Jobs "Workstation" "Managed by Agent" (any other combination uses more the the .33/lic per machine but does give me the info I want)

For these agent jobs the emails I receive contain the fact that the "Backup agent installation is not required" for each agent, but I am looking for more the results of the actual job, the size of the data that was transferred. The server is receiving this information that I want, I know this because when you click on one of the "Hosts" in the lower window, you can see the details (data transferred) and success of the job.

The agent itself when in this mode, shows notifications all grayed out and fully non-configurable. The log files on the agent workstations do not show any attempt to send email.

All agent and server versions are the latest. If the agent is used in un-licensed mode, I can configure notifications and receive the results of the job just fine. But when the config is "pushed" from VB&R it seems I lose this visibility.

Hi PS

For Managed by Agent, you can only receive a daily summary mail with the job statistics from the last 24 hours.
It should look like this: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110

To receive these policy reports, you have to enable global email notifications within Veeam Backup & Replications. The report should be sent out daily at 10AM.
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... icy-report

The mail with "Backup agent installation is not required" looks more like the daily protection group rescan statistic report.

Thanks
