Detailed report of backup

Is it possible to get a detailed report of a backup showing what items were backed up? Community edition here and the nightly backup of my server is producing surprisingly large files each night. Would be useful to know what's getting backed up.

There is no detailed list of every item that has been backed up, but please take a look at this post that describes that how incremental backups are formed. Should help!
