Enterprise Edition and Bare Metal Recovery support

Hi! Our customer is merging 02 x Veeam Backup Essentials Enterprise socket perpetual license with 01 x Veeam Data Platform Advanced VUL license.

As described in the Veeam License Policy, when both perpetual per socket and subscription VUL licenses are installed, the software will follow the Perpetual License edition.

In this case, the resultant edition will be Enterprise and the VUL will follow these features. For this customer, the VUL license will be used to protect workstations.

Please, does the Enterprise Edition support Bare Metal Recovery Feature? I am not able to find it in the features comparation: veeam_data_platform_feature_comparison_ds.pdf

Bare Metal Recovery must be started from a recovery media on the target machine itself and is available for all licenses. Enterprise manager is not a requirement or used in bare metal recovery scenarios.

What exact feature are you looking for in the enterprise manager?

Only Veeam VBR server/console is deployed in the environment. The merge operation of the socket and VUL licenses will be performed on it. And after the merge, the VUL license will be aligned with the features of the socket´s - Enterprise Edition, as described in Veeam License Policy.

In this case, the additional VUL licenses can perform Bare Metal Recovery operations on the workstations because this feature is present in all editions of VBR (standard, enterprise, and enterprise plus). Is that correct?

I apologize, I misread and thought the question is about Enterprise Manager.
Yes. Enterprise Edition does support Bare Metal Recovery.

All Editions do:
- Community Edition / Free Agent
- Standard
- Enterprise
- Enterprise plus
