Hello Everyone ,
I have the following setup My VBR hosted in my local DC then I have a Windows repo Hosted in the Cloud in the same Cloud I have my Windows Machine.
Now what I usually do is that I have a job that backups up the Windows machine to My windows repo then another job that takes a backup copy from my repo to my local DC.
Now I am trying to do a file level restore directly from my repo to my VBR I reaad the documentation and opened the below ports:
135, 137-139, 445, 6170
I still get a connection issue VBR_IP:9401
So my question here what are the ports neede to be opened between My VBR server and my repo server so I can successfully do a file level restore.
Thanks you

Re: File level restore Windows
Hi Faisal
Are you using a remote console or the local backup console on your backup server?
Port 9401 (from backup console to backup server) is listed for the remote console in <Copy To> and <Mount to console> operations.
The port is also required from Mount Server to Backup Server.
When doing a File level recovery, the mount server will mount the backup from the repository. Therefore its important to open the ports between mount and repository server as well.
Best,
Fabian

Re: File level restore Windows
Dear Fabian,
I access the VBR console and want to connect to my repo which has my backup and preform a file level restore.
So I guess I need to mount the backup to my VBR server?

Re: File level restore Windows
Hello Faisal
Apologize, I was out of office the last 2 days.
In the repository properties, you have to specific a mount server:

When you do a File Level Restore session, the backup file will be mounted by the selected mount server machine.
If your repository and backup server are different machines, then you need to open the necessary ports for that connection (mount > repository server). Please check these ports in our help center port list.
You also have the option to mount the backup to the machine where you have started your backup console. The menu button is called "Mount to Console".
With the console running on the backup server, please make sure to allow the following connection on your firewall:
Source: Select Mount Server
Destination: Backup Server
Port: TCP 9401
If you still see connection issues, please contact our customer support to investigate the logs.
Best,
Fabian
