Hello
I am setting up a trial of Veeam Backup & Replication V11 to
backup 4 Google Cloud instances with Ubuntu 18
Case ID 04901445
When trying to backup one of the instances I get the following error.
Code: Select all

is not supported.
Any idea what is happening?
Thanks

Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
Just to clarify which product you are using (because Backup & Replication cannot backup Cloud VMs directly): are you using Veeam Agent for Linux (deployed by Backup
& Replication)? Or are you using
Veeam Backup for Google (a standalone web based backup tool)?
Ext4 as filesystem is supported in general by all our products. So support needs to investigate what is really happening there.
Best regards,
Hannes

Hello and thanks for responding.
Within a Google Cloud project I have 4 virtual instances installed. 3 of them have Ubuntu 18 and the rest have windows. In the windows instance I have Veeam Backup & Replication 11 installed.
Install the linux agent in each of the instances and in two of them the backup works correctly. It only fails in one of the instances.

Hello,
in general, your setup should just work. Only support can find out the real reason of that error by checking the logs.
I assume that the VM in Google cloud runs a customized kernel. That results in "
experimental " support status for your setup
If you only have cloud VMs, I recommend looking at
Veeam Backup for Google Cloud . That works agentless.
Best regards,
Hannes

Hello
Does the option that you recommend (Veeam Backup for Google Cloud) have the possibility of recovery at the folder level?
I only need to back up some directories on the disk.
I do not make a copy of the entire disc.
Thank you

Hello,
file & folder recovery works, yes.
But backup / snapshot will always be the entire machine. You could also use NAS backup for backing up files & folders:
