How to backup physical Veeam Server itself

Post by twigs »

Hi!
I have one Veeam and replication installation on physical server and now I have a doubt about the backup of this machine.
Is there any document or recommendation on how to back up this machine to physical?
Thank you very much

Hi Kiko

VBR Configuration Backup
You can backup the configuration of the VBR server with a configuration backup job. Just install a new windows machine and deploy the VBR server. Then you can restore the configuration backup.
In Case you lost the configuration backup, you can import the backup files. My colleague Hannes wrote a Blog post about it:

In most cases, the configuration backup is enough, because deploying a new VBR and restore the config can be done really fast.

Backup OS
If you want to backup the entire VBR Server, then you can use our Veeam Agent.
Make sure, that you exclude any Disk which contains a Backup Repository.
